In 2025, Bitraf got this machine & several other tools donated by SBS/Håndverksløftet. It is a professional 118kg drill press for use with wood, plastic, metals and more. It has nice features such as auto-start, depth setting, torque-reading, tapping mode and much more. Especially the torque measurement will prove useful at Bitraf where many users might want some assistance getting things right.
To learn more about the machine, check out this introductory video. The video show's Imperial units, but at Bitraf the machine should always be set to English language and Metric measurements. The safety cover should never be removed or modified in any way.
Resetting the machine
It is possible to lock this machine and if it was well designed, the password could be used to limit access. Instead it's made to completely block access. At som point, someone will lock it and then, these instructions will come in handy.
Factory Reset
If the user is experiencing problems with the NOVA Voyager DVR Drill Press, then it is advised for the user to perform a factory reset.
To perform a factory reset:
- Press <Menu> key.
- Select the Configuration menu item.
- Select the Factory Reset menu item.
- Press <Confirm>.
- Turn off the power to the NOVA Voyager DVR Drill Press. Wait for 5 minutes for the circuitry to completely discharge.
- Turn the power on and the LCD should display “Warning! – EEPROM Reset”.
- Turn off the power to the Drill press again and wait 5 minutes.
- Power up the NOVA Voyager DVR Drill Press again, and the default parameters will be restored to the firmware memory.
If the user can't access the menu then it is advised for the user to follow these steps: You can activate the bypass factory reset by following the steps below:
- Press and hold the "F3" button
- While still pressing the "F3", press the "OFF" button for 2 seconds and then let go
- Release the "F3" button
- The screen should say "factory reset", power off the machine for 5mins for the capacitors to discharge
